STEVEN P. FLOMAN – Attorney
Mr. Floman graduated from Yale College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1964. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Law School with a L.L.B. degree in 1967, and he received a Masters of Science in Taxation degree from the University of New Haven in 1985. He was admitted as a member of the Connecticut Bar in 1967 and also is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut, and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.

Before entering private practice, Mr. Floman worked for the New Haven Legal Assistance Association, Inc. providing legal services to New Haven residents unable to afford the services of a private attorney. In private practice, Mr. Floman has remained committed to the provision of legal services for individuals unable to afford private representation. In 1995 and 1997 he was recognized by the Connecticut Bar Association with a Certificate of Commendation for his pro bono activities.

Mr. Floman is a member of the New Haven County Bar Association, the Connecticut Bar Association, and the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association. He also is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the Elder Law Section of the Connecticut Bar Association. He has lectured extensively on topics that include wills, living wills, durable power of attorney instruments, and Medicaid eligibility and planning strategies.

For many years, Mr. Floman was an adjunct instructor at the University of New Haven where he taught courses in business law and evidence. Mr. Floman’s experience and expertise in judicial proceedings have been recognized by the Judicial Department which has appointed him as an Attorney Trial Referee. As an Attorney Trial Referee, Mr. Floman hears cases presented by other attorneys, often personal injury cases, and makes written decisions concerning those cases.
